im-stuffed2Thanksgiving is almost here.. The turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and all kinds of different pies and deserts. And Ohhh that feeling of pulling yourself away from the table to pass out on the couch. That feeling is kinda like what we are experiencing here in Alamosa.

Only three days after the opening of registration our site filled to the brim! How exciting! God has done some amazing things through this SERVE site, and I can't wait to see what happens this year. We look forward to seeing all of the servants here to impact this area for Christ.

Who Cares?

"Take the old prophets as your mentors. They put up with anything, went through everything, and never once quit, all the time honoring God. What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You've heard, of course, of Job's staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That's because God cares, cares right down to the last detail."

James 510-11 (Message)

servelitleI can't believe it, but it's time for preperation. Time to start planning Alamosa YU SERVE 2010! This year's theme is Who Cares? It seems that way sometimes.. Who cares if I________?

Back in 1997 my parents got a devorce leaving our family split apart. I often asked if anyone cared.. Life hurts, and sometimes we ask that question. Many people who live in Alamosa and the surrounding area ask that question. We will answer it for them on the week of July 10-17 2010.

I know it will go well because God is in control and God cares right down to the last detail. Stay tuned for more..

Ready or not here we go.. Summer it seems is just passing us by. I don;t know about you, but I can’t believe it is already time for the Alamosa SERVE! We are finishing up last minute preparations, and re looking forward to filling our church with so many people from so many places willing to serve others for Christ! We are going to turn this community upside-down, and all in the name of Jesus Christ.

Mile 33 is Back!

Written by Matt Beckner Monday, 04 May 2009 00:00

mile33_09albumMile 33 has been with Alamosa SERVE for 5 years and they’re back, for another year of praise and worship. Get ready!

Mile 33 is a worship band that focuses primarily on helping people worship our Lord Jesus through song. We have been playing together over 7 years and have enjoyed our opportunities to praise Christ at many places throughout Southern, Colorado. We lead worship for Christ, as He is our hope, righteousness, joy, and He is also our beloved God who knows how we feel and cares for us. It is by the Grace of Christ that we exist. We hope that Christ is visible through what we do and we hope that God is glorified in our music.

We picked the name Mile 33 long before the current band “33 Miles” and we are sticking by it. We call oursleve Mile 33 becasue Jesus was 33 years old when He gave His life for us and it was the last mile of His life that is our only hope.

The Band consists of:

Bobby Cody (Lead Electric Guitar) (Lead Male Vocal), Jason Cody (Lead Rythym Accoustic Guitar) (Backup Male Vocal), Wayne Cody (Bass), Arleigh Johnson (Drums & Percussion), Sarah Cody (Lead Female Vocal).
